CNC Miller (Programmer / Setter / Operator) - Transitioning into Production Engineer within 12 months - Progression Opportunity
Location: Saint Leonards-on-Sea
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per year (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday (38 hours per week)
The Role & Progression
We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller, who would like to progress into a more technical position within the next 12 months. Initially, you will come in as a skilled Machinist, responsible for programming and running a variety of multi-axis milling machines, and within twelve months, you will progress into more of a Production Engineer position, where you will be responsible for the machining side, as well as other things, including process improvements, costings, estimating, and providing technical support to the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

Program, set up, and run modern multi-axis HAAS CNC milling centres (including 3, 4, and 5-axis machines) for small batches and complex prototype runs - programming at the machine is done using Fanuc controls.

Self-inspection of machined parts and components using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, calipers, gauges) and CMM (Mitutoyo/M-COSMOS)

Utilising CAD/CAM for offline programming needs (EdgeCAM, OneCNC, AlphaCAM, or Fusion 360).
What We Are Looking For:

Solid background as a CNC Miller, with strong programming knowledge and experience.

Prior experience with Fanuc controls is essential.

Previous experience programming offline using CAM software is highly preferred. The company use EdgeCAM, OneCNC, AlphaCAM, or Fusion 360, but any other software is welcome.

Absolute confidence in reading, translating, and machining from technical drawings and CAD models.

Experience working to tight tolerances (often within microns) for high-tech industries where quality is paramount.

A reliable, self-motivated individual who enjoys technical problem-solving and works well within a collaborative team.
