A well-established engineering business in Poole is looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join its skilled manufacturing team. The role involves working across 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling, producing complex precision components to high standards.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys a varied role involving setting, operating, programming and process improvement, with a 4-day working week.
The Role
As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for:
- Setting and operating 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Producing complex, high-precision components.
- Editing and creating CNC programmes where required.
- Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Using Edgecam and Fusion 360.
- Selecting appropriate tooling and work-holding methods.
- Proving and improving machining processes.
- Carrying out quality checks throughout production.
- Supporting continuous improvement and problem solving.
- Working closely with production and quality teams.
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller.
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Experience with 3, 4 or 5-axis machining.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- CNC programming/editing experience.
- Experience with Edgecam and/or Fusion 360 would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of tooling, cutting conditions and work-holding.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality components.
- £45,000–£48,000 per year, depending on experience.
- 4-day working week.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Based in Poole, Dorset.
