A leading precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC 5 Axis Setter to join its expanding machining team. Your New Role

As CNC 5 Axis Setter, you will be responsible for setting and proving out jobs, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Setting and operating 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
  • Working from engineering drawings, setup sheets and CNC programs.
  • Preparing tooling, fixtures and workholding equipment.
  • Setting tool and work offsets to achieve accurate component manufacture.
  • Proving out new and existing programs safely and efficiently.
  • Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshooting machining issues and supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Working closely with programming, production and quality teams.
  • Maintaining quality, traceability and health & safety standards throughout production.


You'll Need to Succeed

  • Previous experience setting CNC milling machines within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ideally experienced on 5 Axis machinery, although experienced 3 Axis Setters looking to progress will also be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, offsets and inspection techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Heidenhain controls.
  • Background in precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience working with complex machined components.
