Location: Coventry, CV7 9FT
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £18.25 – £19.53 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Hours: Mon - Thu | 7:00am - 4:45pm


The Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Turn-Mill Operator to join a precision engineering environment in Coventry. You will be responsible for setting and operating multi-axis CNC machinery, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances and precise specifications.

You will work with:
  • Mazak Integrex I-800 V/8S with Mazatrol Smooth Ai controller
  • Okuma VTM 120YB with Fanuc 18i-TB controller
The successful candidate must be able to set and carry out basic programming on at least one of these machines and have a strong background in multi-axis machining.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set and operate CNC Turn-Mill machinery.
  • Work across multiple machines where required.
  • Achieve agreed production times and targets.
  • Read and follow operation sheets to ensure parts progress correctly through production.
  • Carry out quality checks using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other measuring equipment.
  • Support technicians and engineering teams with jig and fixture design.
  • Complete daily and weekly TPM checks to maintain machinery and minimise breakdowns.
  • Support and mentor less experienced machine operators where required.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve customer and company objectives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, Lean and 5S activities.
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and comply with company procedures and legislation.
We're looking for someone with:
  • Previous CNC Turn-Mill experience – essential.
  • Mechanical apprenticeship training or equivalent experience.
  • Experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC machinery.
  • Experience in a precision engineering environment.
  • Experience working with high-value components and/or exotic materials such as Titanium, Inconel and Hardened Steel.
  • Experience within Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or subcontract machining would be advantageous.
  • Basic CNC programming capability on at least one of the specified machines.
  • Good understanding of quality standards and inspection processes.
