A well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Wareham is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join its busy machine shop team. This is a hands-on role focused on programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.
The role would suit an experienced CNC Turner or CNC Programmer with strong machining capability who is confident working in a fast-paced production environment and contributing to efficient day-to-day output.
The Role
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
- Editing programs and carrying out tooling adjustments.
- Performing tool setting and offset adjustments.
- Producing components to tight tolerances.
- Carrying out self-inspection and quality checks.
- Maintaining a clean and organised machine shop environment.
- Following all health & safety and quality procedures.
- Previous experience as a CNC Turner, CNC Setter or CNC Programmer.
- Experience using Fanuc controls or similar CNC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances.
- Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- A proactive, reliable and self-motivated approach.
