The opportunity

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Turner (Programmer / Setter / Operator) on behalf of a well-established precision engineering client working in aerospace and precision machining. This is a great opportunity for a skilled turner to join a quality-focused machine shop producing precision components to exacting customer standards.

The role

• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machinery to engineering drawings and customer specifications
• Producing precision components while maximising stock utilisation and minimising scrap and waste
• Maintaining accurate records on the computer-based stock control system and supporting documentation
• Ensuring full conformance to order requirements and quality procedures
• Supporting the training of other operatives
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

About you

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines (up to 3-axis)
• Experience with Fanuc controls (desirable)
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and cutting patterns
• Confident working to tight tolerances in a precision/aerospace environment
• PC literate, self-motivated, reliable and numerate
• Quality-focused with strong attention to detail
• Counterbalance forklift licence (desirable)

• 8 to 5 Monday - Thursday & Friday 8-1 - Day Shifts - 39 Hours
• Overtime Regularly Available over 39 hours at Incentive Rate
