Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner to ensure best practice manufacturing techniques are applied within the Machine Shop through effective programming, setting and operation of CNC lathes, while supporting continuous improvement.
Rate
£18-£22/hour DOE (Setting vs Operating vs Programming etc)
Hours
- 39 hours per week.
- Monday to Thursday: 6:45am to 3:30pm.
- Friday: 7:00am to 1:00pm.
- 30-minute lunch break.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC lathes, with programming knowledge.
- Follow set-up sheets, work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Produce components to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality and safety procedures.
- Machine, handle and protect manufactured components correctly.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Support continuous improvement within the Machine Shop.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- Minimum 3 years' experience machining large components in a high precision manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years' experience operating Mazak controls.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes across a range of materials.
- Experience working from engineering drawings and job cards.
- Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machine tools.
- Strong understanding of GD&T.
Desirable
- Programming experience with Mazak controls.
- Security Clearance.
