Coded Welder in Rotherham

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading engineering business to recruit an experienced Coded Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled welder who takes pride in their work and is confident working on complex fabrication projects, producing high-quality welds to demanding industry standards.

Job Title: Coded Welder / Fabricator
Location: Rotherham – Workshop and Site Based
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
Hourly Rate: £19.48 per hour + Overtime 

• Carrying out coded welding and fabrication work on tanks, vessels, hoppers, pressure vessels and associated equipment.
• Working from detailed engineering and fabrication drawings, including welding symbols.
• MIG/MAG and/or TIG welding of carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Producing high-quality welds to required specifications, tolerances and customer standards.
• Working on a variety of fabrication projects, from preparation and fit-up through to final welding and finishing.
• Carrying out tack welding, setting and positioning components prior to final welding.
• Ensuring welds meet required quality standards and specifications, including ASME IX, BS EN and customer requirements.
• Carrying out visual inspection of completed welds and identifying any defects or areas requiring rework.
• Using workshop equipment safely, including weld sets, grinders, overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Working on storage tanks and associated projects in line with API and EEMUA standards.
• Maintaining accurate welding and coding records in line with ASME IX and BS EN requirements.
• Working both independently and as part of a wider fabrication team.
• Supporting site-based projects when required.

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Welder/Fabricator within a heavy engineering or industrial environment.
• Previous experience working as a coded welder.
• Current or recent welding qualifications/coding would be highly advantageous.
• Strong MIG/MAG and/or TIG welding experience.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel and/or aluminium.
• Confident reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience working on tanks, vessels, pressure vessels or similar heavy fabrication would be beneficial.
• Good understanding of weld quality requirements and relevant industry standards.
• Able to work independently and take responsibility for the quality of your own work.
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines without compromising on quality.

• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Flexibility to work off-site and travel to other locations when required.
• Willingness to stay in temporary accommodation when projects require it.
