Talent STEM are partnering with an established manufacturing organisation to recruit a Colour Matching Technician to join their technical team on a permanent basis.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business where you will play a key role in maintaining product quality through the assessment, matching and control of colour and appearance.

 

Working closely with technical and production teams, you will assess product samples against approved standards, investigate colour variation and help ensure finished products meet the required specification.

 

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience of colour matching, colour assessment or appearance-based quality control within a manufacturing environment.

 

Experience gained within paints, coatings, textiles, plastics, pigments, inks or other colour-controlled manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.

 

 

Key responsibilities

-  Assess and match product samples against approved colour and quality standards.

-  Carry out visual colour assessments and instrumental colour measurements.

-  Identify colour variation and support corrective actions where required.

-  Make quality decisions against agreed specifications and tolerances.

-  Prepare and maintain colour reference standards and retained samples.

-  Complete quality documentation and maintain accurate records.

-  Support production teams with colour and appearance-related issues.

-  Assist with product trials and continuous improvement activities.

-  Maintain colour measurement equipment and a safe working environment.

 

 

Candidate profile

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

-  Previous experience of colour matching, colour assessment or visual quality control.

-  Experience within a manufacturing, production, quality or technical environment.

-  A strong eye for colour and excellent attention to detail.

-  Experience working to defined specifications, standards or tolerances.

-  A methodical approach to quality and problem solving.

-  Good communication and organisational skills.

-  Experience within paints, coatings, textiles, plastics, pigments, inks, flooring, packaging or similar manufacturing sectors would be particularly relevant.

-  Experience using colour management or measurement equipment such as X-Rite, Datacolor or similar systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
