Commercial / Procurement Administrator

Our client, a well-established and successful construction business, is seeking a Temporary Procurement / Commercial Administrator to join their busy Procurement team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented administrator to gain valuable experience within a fast-paced construction environment, with an immediate start available from June 2026 and the potential for the assignment to continue on an ongoing basis.

The Role

Reporting into the Procurement team, you will provide efficient and professional administrative support across a range of procurement activities, helping to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations and maintaining compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Open, distribute and manage incoming post for the Procurement team.
  • Maintain supplier, subcontractor and plant hire databases, ensuring all records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support the tendering process by issuing documentation and uploading information to relevant systems.
  • Maintain subcontractor health & safety and compliance records, ensuring all required documentation and insurance details are current.
  • Process and onboard new subcontractors, obtaining approvals and updating internal compliance systems.
  • Issue health & safety communications and monitor responses within required timescales.
  • Prepare and issue framework agreements, track outstanding documentation, and liaise with legal teams where required.
  • Process material and subcontractor orders through internal procurement systems.
  • Assist with subcontractor payment processing and resolve payment-related queries.
  • Support commercial teams with the administration of subcontractor option orders.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to obtain waste management and site compliance information.
  • Issue inspection notifications and annual self-billing agreements to subcontractors.
  • Maintain departmental calendars, meetings and holiday schedules.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure compliance with company procedures and operational standards.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working within a busy administrative or office-based environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using COINS or similar construction software would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within the construction, housebuilding or related sector is desirable.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
