Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for an ambitious and organised Commercial Assistant to join their Healthcare team based in Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their commercial experience within a diverse Facilities Management environment, supporting the delivery of essential Hard FM services across a busy healthcare estate.

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, Operational Managers and Supply Chain Partners, you'll gain exposure to commercial management, procurement, contract administration, subcontractor management and project delivery, making this an ideal role for someone looking to develop a long-term career in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

About the Role

Our team delivers a wide range of Hard FM services across the hospital estate, including:

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Asset lifecycle replacement programmes
  • Defect rectification works
  • Compliance and statutory maintenance
  • Building fabric repairs and decoration
  • Mechanical, electrical and plumbing services
  • Medical gas systems
  • Theatre environments
  • Fire and life safety systems
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Minor works, alterations and improvement projects

You'll play a key role in ensuring our supply chain, commercial processes and financial controls operate efficiently across these services.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the management of subcontractor contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Raising, maintaining and amending purchase orders and contract orders.
  • Ensuring financial records and procurement documentation remain accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting with tendering activities for maintenance works, projects and alterations.
  • Obtaining and evaluating supplier quotations.
  • Supporting subcontractor performance monitoring and quality management.
  • Processing applications for payment and managing subcontractor invoices.
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure purchasing procedures are followed.
  • Maintaining trackers for client alteration requests and project variations.
  • Following up on pricing submissions and ensuring reports are updated.
  • Supporting commercial reporting and general contract administration activities.
  • Ensuring governance, compliance and internal processes are adhered to at all times.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience in a commercial, procurement, quantity surveying or contract administration role.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of purchase orders, invoicing and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
