A rare opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Director to join a fast-growing electrical contractor in a brand-new role, where you will take ownership of the commercial function while helping shape the future growth of the business.

Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator or Commercial Manager looking to step into a Commercial Director position? Do you enjoy winning work, building client relationships, and overseeing projects commercially from tender through to final account? This contractor specialises in commercial electrical installations for a range of blue-chip clients across the UK. Backed by an established parent company, they deliver projects including ultra-rapid EV charging schemes, forecourt installations, retail rollout programmes, and commercial fit-outs. Following a highly successful first year and a growing pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint their first Commercial Director to lead the commercial strategy and support the next stage of expansion.

In this role, you will lead the commercial function from securing new work through to project completion. You'll prepare and review electrical tenders, develop new business opportunities, oversee cost control, work closely with the Contracts Manager during project delivery, and ensure projects are commercially successful through to final accounts. This is a highly autonomous role where you will play a key part in driving profitability and business growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background with experience pricing commercial electrical projects. You will be commercially minded, confident developing client relationships, and capable of overseeing both estimating and commercial management activities.

  • Preparing and pricing electrical tenders
  • Developing new business opportunities and client relationships
  • Managing project costs from tender through to final accounts
  • Working closely with Contracts Managers throughout project delivery
  • Supporting the commercial growth and strategy of the business


The Person

  • Experience pricing commercial electrical projects
  • Electrical background (qualifications or site experience)
  • Commercial management and business development experience
  • Strong client-facing and negotiation skills
  • Ambitious and motivated to help grow a business
