Location: Lancaster (Hybrid)

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000

Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week. Monday to Thursday based at the Lancaster Head Office, working from home on Fridays (flexible working options considered).

The Role

As a Commercial Executive, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of customer accounts, developing long-term relationships while identifying opportunities to retain, grow, and maximise business across the organisation's qualifications, apprenticeship, assessment, and EdTech solutions.

Working closely with Commercial Managers and internal teams, you'll deliver an outstanding customer experience, manage enquiries, maintain CRM records, support sales activities, and contribute to achieving commercial growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts to maximise retention and revenue growth.
  • Build trusted relationships with colleges, training providers, schools, employers, and education partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities through account development and proactive prospecting.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurately update CRM systems.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while managing enquiries through to resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure seamless customer support.
  • Monitor account performance and contribute to commercial forecasting.
  • Promote qualifications, apprenticeship programmes, assessment services, and EdTech solutions.
  • Attend customer meetings, networking events, and sector conferences to support business growth.
  • Analyse customer activity and competitor information to identify commercial opportunities.
  • Ensure KPI and Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets are consistently achieved.
  • Support continuous improvement, compliance, and wider commercial initiatives across the business.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a proactive, customer-focused sales professional with excellent relationship-building skills and an interest in the Education, Awarding Organisation, Apprenticeships, and EdTech sectors.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within Sales, Account Management, Customer Success, Business Development, or Commercial Support.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A strong customer service mindset with a consultative sales approach.
  • Experience managing CRM systems and customer databases.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Confidence identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • A proactive and target-driven attitude.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • An interest in Education, Awarding Organisations, Apprenticeships, Further Education, or EdTech would be advantageous.
