Commercial Manager

EFAB Resourcing are currently seeking experienced and commercially astute Commercial Manager to play a key role in driving our clients business forward.
The successful candidate will take ownership of key commercial functions across the business, including business development, estimating/quantity surveying input, procurement, and contract management. You will work closely with the in-house Accountant to analyse financial performance and make informed commercial decisions that positively impact profitability, sustainability, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Business Growth
Drive the commercial performance of the business, identifying opportunities to improve margins and efficiency
Support and contribute to business development activity, including tender strategy, client engagement, and framework opportunities
Provide commercial insight and challenge to support strategic decision-making
Estimating / Quantity Surveying
Oversee or support estimating activities, including tender reviews, cost plans, and risk analysis
Input into value engineering, cost control, and commercial forecasting
Ensure projects are commercially viable from pre-construction through delivery
Procurement & Supply Chain
Manage and develop supply chain relationships
Lead procurement strategies to ensure best value, quality, and risk mitigation
Negotiate subcontract and supplier terms
Contracts Management
Manage contracts across projects, with strong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
Identify and manage commercial risk, variations, claims, and final accounts
Ensure contractual compliance and protect the commercial interests of the business
Financial Analysis & Collaboration
Liaise closely with the in-house Accountant to analyse costs, forecasts, cashflow, and project performance
Review financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Support budgeting and reporting processes
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or similar role within construction
- Strong background in at least one of the following:
- Business Development
- Estimating
- Quantity Surveying
- Solid understanding of construction procurement and contract administration
- Practical experience working with JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Commercially driven and results-focused
- Inquisitive mindset with a desire to fully understand projects, contracts, and financial performance
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to balance risk and opportunity
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
