Commercial Quantity Surveyor / QS – Engineering Projects

An established UK engineering business is looking to appoint a Commercial Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of complex, high-value engineering and infrastructure projects.

This is an opportunity to join a long-standing specialist contractor delivering multidisciplinary programmes across design, manufacture, installation and commissioning environments.

Unlike traditional construction roles, this position sits within technically complex engineered projects where commercial decisions impact every stage of project delivery.

The role would suit someone with experience across engineering, infrastructure, M&E, industrial, mechanical or complex construction projects looking to develop further within a specialist engineering environment.

The Role:
• Commercial management across the full project lifecycle
• Contract administration and commercial governance
• Managing NEC contracts, compensation events and change control
• Monthly cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs
• Procurement and subcontractor commercial management
• Applications for payment and valuation management
• Cost planning and budget control
• Supporting project delivery teams with commercial decision making
• Risk identification and mitigation
• Final account preparation and commercial close out

What they are looking for:
• Quantity Surveying experience within engineering, infrastructure, industrial, M&E or technically complex project environments
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4 preferred)
• Experience managing commercial risk and project financial performance
• Ability to operate across multidisciplinary project environments
• Comfortable working alongside operational, design and engineering teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable:
• Exposure to manufacturing, mechanical installation or engineered systems
• Experience across contractor or specialist project environments
• Degree qualified or working toward professional chartership
