We are currently recruiting for a talented Commis Chef to join our client based on the outskirts of Swindon.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the hotel's quality standards.
• With training, ensure all food is prepared using fresh ingredients and correct cooking techniques.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Support and mentor any Kitchen Assistants.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to senior Chefs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, allergen regulations, and health & safety procedures.
• Work effectively under pressure during busy service periods, including weddings, conferences, and events.

Requirements

• College training with successful pass of theory and practical exams.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Good organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Passion for fresh, seasonal produce and high-quality food.
• Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Desirable Qualifications
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent.
• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate.
