£21.82 per hour PAYE or £27.86 per hour limited paid via umbrella company inside IR35

Our client is looking for an experienced Communications Officer

Hybrid – 2 days per week on site. Will be some travel to go to events.

Ideally marketing or CIPR qualification

• Leading key council communication campaigns
• Developing proactive media relations to showcase Council services and projects
• Handling media issues
• Campaign evaluation
• Organising and running press and promotional events 
• Supporting the wider communications team to achieve its goals

An experienced communications professional to become our Communications Business Partner for Environment & Communities and Housing. We are looking for someone who is skilled in media relations, a creative thinker and someone who is experienced at developing and delivering compelling communication campaigns.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the best communication teams in local government. £1.5 billion has been secured to transform Walsall and we need a talented communications professional to join us to help us to showcase our people, our place and our Council. 

We have big ambitions to build on our proud industrial heritage and build a borough fit for the future.

This isn't a job for a beginner. We are looking for someone who is used to working with the media, a good writer and someone who has experience of using a broad range of communications and marketing techniques to create, deliver and evaluate campaigns. 

You will become an important part of our talented communications team, building relationships with colleagues in Environment & Communities and often working closely with elected members.

Key responsibilities include:
