BDS have an exciting opportunity for a mobile responder to form part of a response service in Wakefield and surrounding area.

The post holder will work from home and respond to emergency call outs and welfare checks to older adults in their own homes. The service supports clients who have had telecare equipment installed. The role holder will respond to calls that have been screened and triaged and an operator feels a physical response is required. All equipment needed for the role is provided.

There is no personal care involved.

Average of 42 hours per week (4 on 4 off 7 days per week 365 days per year - to include nights and weekends and Bank Holidays on a rolling rota. You will be an approachable and empathetic person who is flexible, committed and reliable. Experience in a social care or supporting people background would be an advantage though not essential for the right person.

This is a temporary to permanent opportunity to start asap.

You must be based closely to Wakefield and the role requires an enhanced DBS check carried out in the last 12 months or on the update service.

A full driving license and your own vehicle will be required. All mileage is paid at 45p per mile.

The salary starts from £13.45ph with an additional £2ph enhancement for any hours worked between 10.30pm & 6.30am and you will work from home and be expected to respond to any call outs during your shift. The rest of the time, you can relax/sleep as long as all calls are answered.
