The Opportunity
I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business seeking a Compliance Technologist to support food safety, quality, compliance, and new product development activities.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining food safety systems, ensuring products meet legal and customer requirements, managing technical documentation, and supporting the successful delivery of NPD projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints and food safety concerns.
- Manage supplier approval processes, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Maintain compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, traceability exercises, and mock recalls.
- Review and maintain raw material and finished product specifications.
- Produce nutritional information and legally compliant product labels.
- Manage non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Lead pest control processes and support monthly technical reporting.
- Support factory trials, product testing, and product launches.
- Work closely with Production, Commercial, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to ensure food safety and product quality standards are met.
- Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.
About You
You'll have experience within food manufacturing and a strong understanding of food safety and compliance systems.
Essential
- Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical/compliance role within FMCG food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, allergens, and food labelling legislation.
- Experience supporting audits, supplier approvals, and specification management.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Bakery industry experience.
- Experience with nutritional calculation software.
- Internal auditing experience.
