Job Overview
Conservation Architect job in Brighton with a RIBA Chartered architectural practice, focused on conservation, heritage, adaptive reuse and listed building projects. This role suits an ARB-registered Architect with strong UK conservation experience, confident technical judgement and experience across planning, listed building consent, conservation area applications and technical delivery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead conservation and heritage projects
- Prepare planning and consent applications
- Coordinate clients and consultant teams
- Liaise with conservation and planning officers
- Produce technical drawings and specifications
Attend site inspections and monitor works to support conservation best practice. You will also contribute to project delivery, technical decision-making and mentoring where appropriate.
Skills & Experience Required
- ARB-registered Architect
- UK conservation project experience
- Listed building and conservation area knowledge
- Traditional construction methods understanding
- Strong technical and site judgement
Experience with masonry, timber and lime mortars would be beneficial. AABC or RIBA Specialist Conservation Register accreditation is desirable, alongside Revit experience where relevant.
