Construction Project Manager / Non-Working Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager / Non-Working Supervisor to join our clients team on a prestigious new Technology Institute project in Oxford.

Our client is undertaking major electrical infrastructure works involving the installation and termination of SWA sub-main cables, ranging from 4 Core 25mm² up to 4 Core 240mm² SWA. There is thousands of meters of cable to be installed and terminated.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to oversee a significant electrical installation package on a high-profile construction project.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will manage site operations as a non-working supervisor / project lead, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day site activities and electrical installation teams.
  • Oversee pulling and installation of SWA sub-main cables (4 Core 25mm² – 240mm²).
  • Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and project scheduling.
  • Ensure all works are completed to specification, programme, and quality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety compliance.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, and site inspections.
  • Liaise with clients, principal contractors, and project management teams.
  • Produce progress reports, manage site documentation, and maintain project records.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction project management and/or non-working electrical supervision.
  • Strong background in commercial / industrial electrical installations.
  • Experience managing SWA cable installation and sub-main infrastructure works.
  • SMSTS qualification preferred.
  • ECS / CSCS card required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Must be up to date with current IT systems and proficient in using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office for reporting, communication, and document management.
  • Ability to manage works within a live construction environment.
  • Flexibility to work Overtime where required including nights.
