We are seeking an experienced HSE Representative / Client Advisor to join a leading Health & Safety Consultancy on a major construction project in Belgium. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile data centre project, acting as the client's Health, Safety, and Environmental representative while ensuring the highest standards of HSE compliance and performance are maintained throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

As the HSE Representative / Client Advisor, you will:

  • Act as the client-side representative for all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) matters on site.
  • Ensure compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE procedures, including:
    • Risk Assessments
    • Method Statements
    • Traffic Management Plans
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews to support and improve existing management systems.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to site managers, supervisors, contractors, and project teams on health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Prepare HSE reports, KPIs, incident investigations, and management updates.
  • Work collaboratively with Site Managers and project stakeholders to ensure safe project delivery.
  • Promote continuous improvement in HSE performance across the project.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Health & Safety Management on large-scale construction projects.
  • Nebosh Certificate 
  • Data Centre construction experience (essential).
  • Membership of IOSH or an equivalent recognised professional HSE organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work independently while building effective working relationships across project teams.
  • A full, valid driving licence.
  • Fluency in English (essential) and French (preferred).
  • The ability to work through a suitable Belgian Ltd Company and comply with Belgian taxation regulations.
