Construction Site Safety Manager

As such we are seeking a competent Construction Site Safety Manager to lead health, safety and environmental performance across the major construction and infrastructure programme, ensuring people, contractors and the environment are protected at all times.
The role will be based in Bridgewater and requires someone who lives in the area or who is going to relocate.
You’ll drive a safe working culture and manage risk assessment activity, approve RAMS, oversee contractor safety, carry out site inspections and investigate incidents and near misses. You’ll ensure full compliance with CDM and wider HSE and environmental regulations, while providing assurance against ISO standards and internal frameworks. As a visible leader on site, you’ll influence behaviours, promote a strong safety culture and report performance and insights to senior stakeholders.
Reporting to the Head of HSE, you’ll work closely with fellow HSE managers and eventually lead a team of advisors, ensuring a consistent and pragmatic approach across site and supporting wider group locations when needed.
What we are looking for:
- You’ll bring strong HSE management experience within large scale construction, ideally with a highly regulated sector such as chemical, oil& gas etc.
- Hands‑on, visible leadership with proven people leadership capability,
- A solid knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation, especially CDM regulations.
- You’ll be a confident communicator, comfortable engaging contractors, senior leaders and regulators.
- A NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- CSCS card
