Contract Logistics Administrator
Import / Export / Shipping / Trade & Compliance

We are supporting a highly respected engineering and technology business in their search for a Logistics Administrator /Shipping Administrator to join their team on a contract basis.
This role would suit someone with experience in import/export administration, freight forwarding, customs compliance, logistics coordination, or international trade documentation who enjoys working in a fast-paced, detail-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation and administration of import and export documentation
- Maintaining accurate trade compliance records and documentation for audit purposes
- Processing and checking customs-related paperwork and shipping documentation
- Updating internal ERP and business systems with import/export information
- Liaising with freight forwarders, carriers, customs agents, and internal stakeholders
- Assisting with export licence administration and shipment approvals
- Supporting supplier and customer screening activities
- Maintaining registers and records to ensure compliance with company procedures
- Assisting the wider Trade & Compliance team with day-to-day import and export activities
Ideally you will have:
- Previous experience in an import/export, logistics, freight, shipping, customs compliance, or trade administration role
- Good understanding of import/export documentation and international shipping processes
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when handling documentation
- Experience maintaining compliance records and audit trails
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel and other business systems
- Excellent PC literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
Desirable
- Exposure to customs procedures, export controls, or trade compliance activities
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Knowledge of customs declarations, certificates of origin, licences, or international shipping documentation
