We're recruiting for 2 X Contract Manager roles at two levels for a public sector organisation. Both roles are hybrid, with 3 days per week required in the office at either the Birmingham or London location, on an initial 9 month contract to March 2027, inside IR35.
Contract Manager: up to £500 per day
Senior Contract Manager: up to £650 per day
You'll manage a portfolio of corporate contracts across the full lifecycle, from mobilisation and transition through to exit, ensuring value for money at every stage. You'll monitor supplier performance and compliance, administer service credits and warranty payments, and proactively manage contract risk. You'll lead stakeholders through change request processes, manage formal disputes through governance structures, and produce contract management plans and reporting for senior stakeholders.
At the senior level, the role sits within a major public sector delivery programme, with a stronger focus on strategic objectives, commercial analysis for senior audiences, and cost planning across major infrastructure or capital delivery.
Proven experience working with the following -
- Corporate contract management across a varied portfolio (at a senior level for the Senior role)
- Monitoring supplier performance and compliance, including performance plans and Early Warnings
- Leading contract change request processes through governance frameworks
- Risk identification, allocation and management, with a sound understanding of different forms of contract
- Negotiating commercial agreements with third parties, and formal dispute resolution
- Cost control and financial monitoring of suppliers
- Stakeholder and supplier relationship management
- Supply chain management
- Knowledge of working with or for publicly funded bodies, including central government
- Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 (UCR) or Public Contracts Regulations (PCR)
- CEMAR, SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Microsoft Project
Additionally, for the Senior Contracts Manager
- NEC forms of contract administration
- Supplier financial health monitoring
- Bespoke third party commercial agreements
- Strategy development and estimating or cost planning
- Experience on major infrastructure or capital delivery programmes
Desirable
NEC Practitioner certification is highly desirable for both roles. MCIPS and MRICS membership are also highly desirable.
