Hyperion Partners are currently working with a leading social housing provider in West London who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Surveyor on an initial 3–6 month contract, with potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Contracts Surveyor with strong social housing experience to join an established property services team and play a key role in overseeing the delivery of planned and reactive works across a residential housing stock.
The Role
As a Contracts Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing contractors and ensuring works are delivered to the required standards, within budget and in line with contractual requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and monitoring contractors delivering planned, reactive and/or major works across social housing properties.
- Carrying out site inspections, quality checks and surveys to ensure works meet specification and contractual standards.
- Monitoring contractor performance, costs, programmes and health & safety compliance.
- Managing variations, valuations, payment applications and associated commercial documentation.
- Identifying defects and ensuring remedial works are completed within agreed timescales.
- Working closely with residents, contractors and internal teams to ensure a high-quality service is delivered.
- Maintaining accurate records and producing reports on contract and project performance.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience working as a Contracts Surveyor within social housing, housing associations or local authorities.
- Strong knowledge of residential repairs, maintenance and/or planned works.
- Experience managing contractors and monitoring contract performance.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance, construction standards and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Relevant surveying, construction or property qualification would be advantageous.
