Are you an experienced Control & Combustion Technician, Combustion Engineer, Controls Engineer, Instrumentation Technician or Furnace Engineer with experience working on industrial furnaces in heavy engineering?

We're recruiting a Control & Combustion Technician for a large heavy engineering manufacturer in Sheffield.

What we're looking for

The successful Control & Combustion Technician will ideally have experience with:

  • Industrial furnaces and combustion systems
  • Burners and furnace controls
  • Heavy engineering, steel, forging, foundry or similar environments
  • Controls and instrumentation
  • PLC fault finding
  • Electrical fault finding
  • Temperature and process control
  • Planned and reactive maintenance
  • Fault finding on complex industrial equipment

The key requirement is genuine furnace experience within a heavy industrial environment.

The role

As a Control & Combustion Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, fault finding and improving the site's furnace, combustion and control systems.

This will include:

  • Planned and reactive maintenance
  • Furnace and combustion fault finding
  • Controls and instrumentation
  • PLC and electrical fault finding
  • Supporting furnace and burner systems
  • Process and temperature controls
  • Supporting equipment reliability and performance
  • Continuous improvement
  • Working alongside engineering and production teams
