I'm recruiting on behalf of an established Greater Manchester manufacturer that designs and builds high-value capital equipment for high-speed manufacturing environments. The business is looking for an engineer who wants to be involved in the complete project lifecycle, from PLC software development through to commissioning and ongoing customer support.
Whether you currently work as a Controls Systems Engineer, Control Software Engineer, Controls Engineer or PLC Programmer, this could be an opportunity to join a business where your input extends far beyond writing code.

Your responsibilities will include:
- PLC and HMI software development
- Programming Siemens and Allen-Bradley / Rockwell control systems
- PLC software testing and validation
- Loading and testing software on control panels
- Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs)
- Commissioning machinery in the UK and overseas
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting control systems
- Providing ongoing customer and technical support
- Supporting projects from initial concept through to final handover
This position would suit someone who enjoys the variety that comes with being a Control Software Engineer or Controls Systems Engineer, rather than being restricted to software development alone.

- PLC programming and software development
- Siemens PLCs, including TIA Portal
- Allen-Bradley and Rockwell control systems

- Expected earnings of around £80,000
- Potential flexibility on the basic salary for exceptional candidates who can bring additional skills and experience
