Counterbalance & Machine Operative

Location: St Neots
Hours: 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £13.50 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced FLT & Machine Operative to join a busy industrial processing environment in St Neots.

This is a hands-on role involving the operation of specialist machinery, alongside using a Counterbalance Forklift to move materials around the site.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, practical and comfortable working around machinery. Previous experience within agriculture, manufacturing, production or another industrial environment would be highly advantageous.

• Operating Counterbalance Forklift Trucks safely and efficiently.
• Operating and monitoring specialist processing and cleaning machinery.
• Loading, unloading and moving materials around the site.
• Monitoring machinery throughout the operation and reporting any faults or issues.
• Carrying out routine checks on machinery and equipment.
• Supporting general production and processing duties.
• Ensuring materials are handled and stored correctly.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the working area.
• Following health & safety and company procedures at all times.
• Working as part of a team to ensure daily operational requirements are met.
• Taking responsibility for the safe and correct use of machinery and equipment.

• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence/certificate is essential.
• Previous experience operating machinery is highly desirable.
• Experience within agriculture, manufacturing, production, warehouse, food processing or another industrial environment would be advantageous.
• Experience operating cleaning, processing or agricultural machinery would be particularly beneficial.
• A practical, hands-on approach to work.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Comfortable working around machinery and following set processes.
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
• Trustworthy and accountable.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is confident operating a Counterbalance FLT, enjoys working with machinery and takes pride in doing a job properly.
