We are currently recruiting for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school in Bury from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced Teaching Assistants, sports coaches, tutors, or youth workers looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged, on task, and working in a positive learning environment. The role requires strong classroom management skills, confidence when working with groups of young people, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences
• Deliver pre-set lesson materials across a range of subjects
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Encourage student engagement and participation
• Provide support and guidance to students where required
• Liaise with teaching staff and report on student progress and behaviour
• Help maintain a safe and productive learning environment

• Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or youth work setting
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Confidence leading groups of students
• Ability to adapt to different subjects and classroom environments
• Professional, reliable, and organised approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
