Credit Controller in Trafford Park, Greater Manchester

We are currently recruiting for an established business based in Trafford Park who are looking to strengthen their Credit Control team. This is a great opportunity for someone with proven credit control experience who is confident managing their own ledger, chasing outstanding debt and working towards collection targets.

Your new role
As a Credit Controller, you will take responsibility for your own portfolio of customers, proactively managing outstanding balances and ensuring payments are received within agreed timescales.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a busy portfolio of customer accounts
• Proactively chasing outstanding debt by telephone and email
• Working towards cash collection and debt reduction targets
• Identifying problematic or high-risk accounts and escalating where appropriate
• Allocating cash accurately against customer accounts
• Investigating and resolving account queries and payment discrepancies
• Working closely with internal teams to resolve aged debt
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account information
• Building professional relationships with customers whilst maintaining a firm approach to collections

What you'll need to succeed
We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Credit Controllers who are comfortable working within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a dedicated Credit Control position
• Strong debt-chasing and cash collection experience
• The confidence to manage a busy ledger and prioritise workloads
• Experience working towards collection targets and reducing aged debt
• Excellent telephone and written communication skills
• A proactive and resilient approach
• Strong attention to detail and good Excel skills
• The ability to work effectively with both customers and internal stakeholders
