Our client Staffordshire Police are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Crime Review Officer to join their Public Protection Command team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about enhancing public safety and ensuring justice. The role involves reviewing historic evidential case files in paper format, providing a critical service to the organisation and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of historical crime files to determine if they meet established criteria for further investigation.
  • Assess the nature of recorded crimes, including the volume of victims and suspects involved.
  • Identify key points and significant information from high volumes of sensitive data, including evidence related to sexual offences.
  • Ensure all reviews are conducted with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity given the nature of the material.
  • Occasionally drive to Leek (ST13 6QT) as needed for the role.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The organisation is looking for individuals who possess the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in policing or crime review is highly desirable.
  • PIP 2 accreditation is a plus, demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills in the field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key information from complex data sets.
  • A meticulous approach to reviewing sensitive information, ensuring confidentiality and integrity.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage high volumes of information efficiently.
