We are currently working with a well-established organisation within the social housing sector, who are looking to recruit an experienced Customer Liaison Officer to support their property compliance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced customer-focused professional who understands the social housing environment and has a strong background in dealing with tenants, contractors and property compliance requirements.
The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and confident Customer Liaison Officer to act as a key link between tenants, contractors and internal teams.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with experience working within property compliance and/or social housing. You will be comfortable dealing directly with tenants, explaining works clearly, managing expectations and ensuring residents receive a professional and positive service.
You will support the delivery of property compliance programmes, ensuring inspections are coordinated, tenants are kept informed and any remedial works are raised and progressed effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the main point of contact for tenants throughout property compliance works.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Arrange and coordinate access for compliance inspections and remedial works.
- Explain planned works and compliance requirements to tenants in a clear and approachable manner.
- Respond to tenant queries, concerns and complaints and ensure these are followed through to resolution.
- Support the delivery of property compliance programmes and ensure works are progressed within required timescales.
- Liaise with contractors following inspections and ensure remedial works are raised and tracked.
- Monitor outstanding remedials and escalate any issues or delays where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and provide updates to relevant teams.
- Ensure tenants are kept informed throughout the process and receive a high level of customer service.
- Work closely with property, compliance and housing teams to ensure effective communication and delivery.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience working in a customer-facing or tenant liaison role.
- Experience within social housing or residential property.
- A good understanding of property compliance and statutory safety requirements.
- Proven experience dealing directly with tenants and residents.
- The ability to build positive relationships with tenants, contractors and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
- The confidence to chase outstanding actions and ensure remedial works are completed.
- A professional, approachable and solutions-focused attitude.
Previous experience or knowledge of:
- Fire safety checks
- Emergency lighting inspections
- Raising and tracking remedial works
- Property compliance inspections and certification
- Contractor management
- Housing/property management systems
- Working within a social housing compliance environment
This role would suit someone who is highly organised, confident dealing with tenants and able to communicate property compliance matters clearly and professionally.
You will need to be proactive, resilient and comfortable working with contractors and internal teams to ensure issues are resolved promptly. Most importantly, you will understand the importance of putting tenants at the centre of the service while ensuring properties remain safe and compliant.
