Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Customer Service and Logistics Administrator to join a busy, well known distribution company based in the Bingham area of Nottingham.
Job overview
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer communications, responding to customer emails and queries, managing returns, carrying out inventory adjustments, dealing with couriers, and responding to Amazon customer enquiries and operational issues. This is a fast-paced and varied role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while taking ownership of issues from start to finish.
Pay & Benefits
- Starting Salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
- Working Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
- 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Inventory Management
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer emails and enquiries.
- Deal with customer queries relating to orders, deliveries, returns and other logistics-related issues
- Provide accurate and timely updates regarding order status and delivery times
- Manage the end-to-end returns process, ensuring returns are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate and monitor the collection and receipt of returned goods.
- Physically check and process returned items where required.
- Assess returned stock and ensure items are handled in line with company procedures.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Support regular stock checks and inventory control activities
Courier Management and Operational Support
- Liaise with courier companies regarding collections, deliveries and operational issues.
- Track and investigate delayed, missing or failed deliveries.
- Chase couriers for updates on outstanding shipments and unresolved issues.
- Raise and follow up delivery investigations and claims where required
- Manage and investigate Amazon-related customer issues, including order, delivery and return queries.
- Monitor Amazon orders and identify any issues requiring action.
- Provide timely and professional responses in line with required Amazon service standards.
- Liaise with couriers and internal teams to resolve Amazon-related issues.
- Escalate recurring or complex Amazon issues where appropriate.
Skills and Experience
- Customer service or responding to customer emails and enquiries.
- Logistics, order fulfilment or warehouse operations.
- Returns management and processing.
- Inventory management and stock adjustments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good computer skills and confidence using email, order management and inventory systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks through to completion
