The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely alongside the Registered Manager to ensure exceptional care and a safe, homely environment. You will be the backbone of the home, driving high standards and stepping up to manage the service effectively in the Registered Manager’s absence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working alongside the Home Manager on compliance, safeguarding, quality assurance, and financial planning.
- Leading, inspiring, and supervising the team, including conducting appraisals and supporting professional development.
- Managing health and safety protocols, risk assessments, and ensuring team training compliance.
- Liaising with external professionals and actively contributing to young people’s care planning.
- Maintaining high standards of care and ensuring the home aligns with the company’s core values.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Senior Residential Care Worker in a Children’s Home setting.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce (essential).
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with both staff and young people.
- A genuine care and compassion for looked-after children, acting as a positive role model.
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern that includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.
