The service supports adults with Prader Willi Syndrome, dual diagnosis and complex needs, providing a safe, structured and person-centred environment. The people supported are encouraged to build independence, develop daily living skills and achieve their personal goals, with a range of activities taking place both within the service and in the local community.
We are looking for an experienced care professional with a background in adult social care who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career. This is a hands-on leadership role, working actively alongside the team on the rota while also having dedicated time for office-based responsibilities.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, families, professionals and other stakeholders, you will help ensure the people supported receive high-quality care and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager:
- Support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day running of the service.
- Support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care.
- Maintain high standards across the service.
- Coach, motivate and develop colleagues, helping to create a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Assist with the effective management of rotas, resources and operational processes.
- Work actively across the service rota alongside the wider team.
- Support the development of colleagues and help them achieve positive outcomes.
- Help oversee operational processes and promote a positive and inclusive culture.
- Work closely with families, professionals and other stakeholders.
- Support the people we support to develop independence and daily living skills.
- Contribute to audits, action planning and quality improvement activities where required.
Key requirements of a Deputy Manager:
- Experience working in adult social care, ideally within a leadership or senior support role.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of CQC standards, safeguarding and person-centred support.
- Experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Acquired Brain Injuries or Mental Health needs.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence managing rotas, systems and day-to-day service operations.
- Ability to support, motivate and develop colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work towards or complete a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Adult Care is desirable.
- Experience undertaking audits, action planning and quality improvement activities is desirable.
- Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.
- £35,000 per annum.
