Applications & Design-for-Manufacture (DFM) Engineer
 

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire (with regional travel)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (approx. £673–£769 per week) + Performance Bonus + Travel Allowance

Key Responsibilities:

• Support sales with regional client visits to assess project needs and provide expert technical advice
• Deliver real-time design-for-manufacture solutions during client meetings
• Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings (training provided)
• Review customer designs to optimise for production efficiency and cost
• Oversee prototyping and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes alongside production teams
• Produce detailed technical documentation for manufacturing and quality control

Requirements:

• Engineering background (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent practical experience)
• 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD (training provided)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material characteristics
• Excellent communication skills tailored to technical and customer-facing situations
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
• Very presentable, this is both an internal and externally facing role
