Engineering @365 is working with a well-established sheet metal manufacturer that specialises in delivering bespoke fabrication solutions to a wide range of industries. Due to continued growth, the company is looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join its engineering team.
About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join the business at the front end of the manufacturing process. Working closely with customers, you'll be responsible for taking initial enquiries and producing accurate AutoCAD drawings that can be released into production.
This role would suit someone with a background in sheet metal fabrication who enjoys customer interaction, problem-solving, and turning concepts into practical manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review customer enquiries and understand project requirements
• Produce accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD
• Liaise with customers to clarify specifications and design requirements
• Ensure designs are suitable for manufacture within a sheet metal environment
• Work closely with sales and production teams to support project delivery
• Amend drawings in line with customer feedback and production requirements
• Maintain accurate drawing records and technical documentation
What we're looking for:
• Previous experience in a Design Engineer or CAD Technician role
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment
• Ability to interpret customer requirements and engineering drawings
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A practical understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload effectively
What's on offer:
• Salary of £35,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
