Design Engineer in Bradford, West Yorkshire

White Label is representing an engineering and manufacturing business based in Bradford who require a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

Working closely with the Project Director and collaborating with QA, planning, and shop floor teams, you will play a key role in delivering complete engineering packages from 3D design and detailed drawings through to third-party inspection sign-off and final acceptance testing.

My client is offering:

• A salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Produce 3D GA design drawings using Autodesk Inventor
• Create detailed 2D construction drawings using AutoCAD
• Assist in delivering complete pressure vessel or skid package designs from concept to manufacture
• Produce tagging and nameplate drawings, and BOMs for procurement
• Liaise with Project Director and attend customer project meetings
• Collaborate with QA, planning, and shopfloor teams internally
• Coordinate with Third Party Inspection Authorities for drawing/calculation approvals
• Contribute to hazard analysis, risk assessments, and PED reviews
• Support project schedule monitoring, goods inspection, and FAT checking

Experience required of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Strong background in pressure vessel, heat exchanger or similar
• Proficient with 3D Inventor and 2D AutoCAD, other CAD systems will be considered
• Good understanding of pressure vessel codes and PED compliance
• Experienced in liaising with internal and external stakeholders across projects
• Able to support projects from design through to final inspection and delivery
• HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering preferred
