Design Manager

We are seeking a proactive Design Manager to join our project team on a fast-paced building in Somerset.

Working for a leading main contractor, you will play a key role in managing the design process ensuring designs are coordinated, buildable, and delivered to program. Working with the supply chain to find WIN's for all parties.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process across all project stages.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the site delivery team to ensure effective communication and collaboration
• Review design information to ensure compliance 
• Identify and resolve design issues proactively to minimize delays and risks
• Chair design team meetings and monitor progress against agreed deliverables
• Ensure all design information is issued accurately and in line with the construction program
• Support value engineering and buildability reviews throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

• Experience as a Design coordinator / Manager with a main OR PMC on building projects
• Strong understanding of construction processes, design coordination, and delivery
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Capable of managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving
