Design Manager – Main Contractor (New Build Residential / Mixed-Use) – Shoreditch

Salary/Package: Up to £100,000 + Travel + Private Medical + Pension + Discretionary Bonus + Annual Leave

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a leading national main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join their established team, working on a portfolio of prestigious new build residential and mixed-use developments across London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work, delivering high-quality, design-led projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will play a key role in managing the design process across all RIBA stages, working closely with clients, consultants and project delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standard.

You will be joining an experienced and supportive team with excellent opportunities for long-term progression within one of the UK's leading main contractors.

 

Role Overview

•        Title: Design Manager

Responsibilities:

•        Managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion across all RIBA stages

•        Coordinating consultants, architects and specialist subcontractors to ensure timely design delivery

•        Reviewing design information for buildability, compliance, programme and commercial considerations

•        Chairing design team meetings and managing the flow of technical information throughout the project lifecycle

•        Working closely with operational, commercial and planning teams to ensure successful project delivery

•        Identifying design risks and implementing practical solutions to maintain programme and quality objectives

Requirements

•        Experience working as a Design Manager within a main contracting environment

•        Strong understanding and practical experience across all RIBA design stages

•        Previous experience delivering new build residential and/or mixed-use developments

•        Excellent coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills

•        Able and willing to commute to Shoreditch and project locations across London as required

Project Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (Cut & Carve / New Build) – North London

Salary/Package: £65,000 – £75,000 + Travel + Private Medical + Pension + Discretionary Bonus + Annual Leave

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a leading main contractor delivering a flagship, mixed-sector regeneration scheme in North London. The project is a complex, multi-phase development combining cut & carve refurbishment, structural alteration and major new build works across residential, commercial, light industrial and community/leisure sectors.

They are seeking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor with main contracting experience who is confident working on complex live environments and can take commercial ownership of key work packages across the scheme.

You will gain exposure to a highly technical project with multiple interfaces, working closely with experienced Senior Surveyors and Commercial Managers who will support your continued progression within a strong and established commercial team.

Role Overview

•        Title: Quantity Surveyor

•        Project: Mixed-Sector (Cut & Carve / New Build)

•        Location: North London

•        Rate: £65,000 – £75,000 + Package

•        Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person

•        Type: Permanent

Responsibilities

·         Managing procurement and commercial delivery of subcontract packages across multiple sectors

·         Supporting cut & carve / refurbishment works including variations and change management

·         Cost reporting, forecasting and monthly valuations

·         Working closely with operational and design teams on live project interfaces

·         Assisting with subcontractor negotiations and final accounts

·         Contributing to overall commercial performance and risk management of the scheme

Requirements

 

·         Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment

·         Exposure to refurbishment/cut & carve, new build or mixed-use projects

·         Strong understanding of JCT contracts and subcontractor management

·         Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a live project environment

·         Able and willing to commute to North London and site locations as required
