Design Technology Technician

Academics are recruiting for a highly successful 11-18 mixed secondary school in great location based in South Buckinghamshire.

Role: Design and Technology Technician (36 hours per week, Term Time Only)

Start: September 2026

Location: Amersham, South Buckinghamshire

Pay: £115 per day

We are seeking to recruit a Design Technician to join the innovative and successful Design & Technology Department. The post holder will be responsible for preparing equipment and teaching areas for practical lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe environment.

Working closely with teaching staff, the successful applicant will assist in the maintenance of materials and equipment and setting up demonstrations for practical work. The successful applicant will also bring experience of operating a laser cutter and working with CAD/CAM programmes.

The post holder will be required to operate and maintain workshop tools and will be responsible for testing new equipment in consultation with the caretakers. The role will also involve assisting in the general maintenance of the workshop, keeping up to date with health and safety requirements and with developments in Design and Technology.
