Are you an ambitious Formulation Scientist, Formulation Chemist, or Pharmaceutical Development Scientist looking to take the next step in your career?

We are looking for a Development Chemist to join a dynamic R&D team developing innovative veterinary pharmaceutical products for global markets. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across the full product lifecycle, from early-stage formulation and process development through to scale-up and regulatory submission.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and optimising pharmaceutical formulations across a range of dosage forms, including oral, injectable, and topical products.
  • Supporting process development, scale-up, and manufacturing activities.
  • Conducting physico-chemical analysis of APIs and finished products.
  • Assisting with analytical method development and validation.
  • Preparing technical documentation to support regulatory submissions.
  • Applying Quality by Design (QbD) principles to product development projects.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary R&D, analytical, and manufacturing teams.

Essentials:

  • Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 2–5 years' experience within pharmaceutical development, formulation, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of GMP/GxP and ICH guidelines.
  • Experience analysing scientific data and supporting development decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within cross-functional teams.

Desirable experience:

  • QbD, DoE, Minitab, or Design-Expert.
  • Oral solid dosage, sterile injectable, or topical formulation experience.
  • Technology transfer and scale-up activities.
  • Veterinary pharmaceutical experience.
  • MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific field.

Location: Northen Ireland (Onsite)

Additional information: This role is based on a manufacturing site that handles penicillin compounds, so will not be suitable for individuals with a penicillin allergy.
