A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is looking for a Dimensional Inspector to join its Detail Inspection team. You'll be carrying out product verification of precision components used in aviation safety systems for fighter jets, working to exacting quality standards in a safety-critical environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Inspecting and testing components using a variety of processes and techniques in accordance with quality assurance instructions and technical specifications
- Accurately interpreting component drawings and test procedures to identify part numbers, drawing issues, ADRs, process specifications, and surface finishes
- Generating and maintaining inspection documentation in line with company quality assurance policy
- Using SAP to record work in progress, track component batches, record locations, and log non-conforming products
- Ensuring all inspection equipment is checked, maintained, and within calibration
- Supporting continuous improvement and 5S activities
- Liaising with the Cell Leader on any issues or changes requiring engineering or quality input
- Contributing to the training of new team members where appropriate
- Adhering to all H&S regulations including risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work
What you need:
- Proven inspection experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Working knowledge of GDT (geometrical dimensional tolerancing)
- Broad experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Strong numeracy and geometry skills
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office and SAP
- Experience using inspection tools and equipment
- Basic grounding in H&S policies and procedures
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Engineering apprenticeship preferred
- Aerospace background desirable
- AS9102 FAIR experience desirable
- CMM or equivalent experience beneficial
