The Director of Adult Social Care provides strategic leadership across Adult Social Care services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support that meets statutory responsibilities, improves outcomes, and promotes independence for residents. The role leads service transformation, safeguarding, partnership working, commissioning, and performance improvement while ensuring effective governance and financial stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the Council's Adult Social Care strategy and transformation agenda.
- Provide oversight of Adult Safeguarding, DoLS, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Social Work, Hospital Interface, Reablement, Day Services, Internal Provider Services, and Quality Assurance.
- Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014 and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Drive service improvement, innovation, and preventative approaches to care delivery.
- Develop strong partnerships with health organisations, local authorities, elected members, and external stakeholders.
- Lead adult social care commissioning and support a sustainable local care market.
- Manage budgets, resources, and performance to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
- Promote integrated working across health and social care systems.
