Shape the Information Backbone of a Major UK Nuclear Programme
Are you an experienced SharePoint Administrator, Document Architect or Document Control professional with a passion for creating efficient, compliant information management systems?
We're looking for a SharePoint Administrator (Document Architect) to join a major UK nuclear decommissioning programme, where you'll play a vital role in designing and managing the SharePoint environment that underpins project delivery.
This is more than document control-it's an opportunity to build the information management framework that enables collaboration, governance and compliance across one of the UK's most significant engineering programmes.
The Role
You'll be responsible for designing and implementing a robust SharePoint-based document management system that supports engineering and project teams throughout the programme lifecycle.
Working closely with programme stakeholders, you'll establish document control standards, develop governance frameworks, configure SharePoint libraries and workflows, and ensure programme documentation remains secure, accessible and fully compliant.
You'll also provide training, technical guidance and ongoing support, helping embed best practice and establish sustainable business-as-usual document management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain SharePoint document management architecture.
- Configure SharePoint libraries, permissions, metadata and workflows.
- Develop document control standards, naming conventions and version control processes.
- Create governance frameworks for document storage, retrieval and archiving.
- Produce document management procedures and Process & Standards manuals.
- Deliver SharePoint training and support to programme teams.
- Support compliance audits and programme reporting.
- Ensure records remain secure, accessible and aligned with organisational requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement across document management processes.
- Work closely with IT and project teams to ensure system performance and user adoption.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have experience with:
- SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server administration.
- Document management systems such as SharePoint, Aconex or Procore.
- Metadata design, taxonomy and document classification.
- SharePoint libraries, permissions and workflow configuration.
- Microsoft 365 and SharePoint integration.
- Version control, document governance and records management.
- Managing documentation on large engineering, infrastructure or construction projects.
- Audit support, compliance reporting and quality assurance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and training experience.
A background in engineering, construction, infrastructure, defence or other highly regulated industries would be highly advantageous.
Why Apply?
- Work on a nationally significant nuclear decommissioning programme.
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- £35-£41 per hour Inside IR35.
- Long-term 12-month contract with excellent extension potential.
- Opportunity to shape programme-wide information management and governance.
- Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment where your expertise will have a lasting impact.
If you're an experienced SharePoint Administrator, Document Controller, Information Manager, Document Architect or Records Management professional looking to work on technically challenging, high-profile programmes, we'd love to hear from you.
