Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to provide specialist support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse across East Hants.

The successful candidate will deliver trauma-informed support focused on improving emotional wellbeing, resilience, and safety outcomes for children and young people.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Provide practical and emotional support to children and young people impacted by domestic abuse
  • Promote recovery, resilience, and positive outcomes
  • Deliver tailored support plans and safety planning
  • Work alongside families, schools, safeguarding teams, and partner agencies

Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments and identify risks and support needs
  • Deliver one-to-one support sessions and interventions
  • Support children and young people to understand healthy relationships and safety
  • Maintain accurate case management records and reports
  • Participate in safeguarding and multi-agency meetings
  • Advocate for children and young people to access appropriate services

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable families
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and domestic abuse
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience is desirable
