Looking for a long-term contract with excellent pay and a massive allowance package?

We are currently recruiting experienced Drainage & Utility Operatives to join our growing team on a variety of major civil engineering infrastructure projects in Guernsey.

This is a temporary zero-hours contract offering excellent hours and the potential for up to 3 years of continuous work, subject to local work permit approvals.

What’s on Offer:

  • Excellent Pay: £18.00 – £28.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Accommodation Support: £900 per month local rent allowance

  • Ongoing Training: Fully funded, in-house certified training including NRSWA Streetworks, Excavation Safety, and Confined Space Entry & Working

The Role:
Working as part of a highly skilled utilities team, you will be involved in deep drainage, pipe laying, and underground utility works. Your main duties will include:

  • Installing domestic and public drainage systems to exact specifications
  • Laying underground pipework and utility services to precise lines and levels
  • Installing trench box systems and ground/trench shoring safely
  • Working securely within excavations and deep trenches
  • Handling excavation, backfilling, and reinstatement works
  • Operating modern equipment and adhering strictly to site health, safety, and environmental procedures

About You:
To be considered for this role, you must have a strong groundworks background and demonstrate:

  • Proven, hands-on experience in drainage installation and pipe laying
  • The ability to read and work from drainage drawings and site specs
  • A rock-solid understanding of excavation safety standards
  • A reliable, hardworking attitude with high standards of workmanship
  • A full UK/EU driving licence (preferred)
  • CPCS / NPORS plant tickets and NRSWA Streetworks qualifications are highly advantageous

Please note: Due to local work permit regulations, applicants must be willing and eligible to relocate to and be based in Guernsey for the duration of the contract.
