We are currently recruiting for a Driver / Yard Operative to join a busy vehicle operations team based in Thurleigh.
This is a hands-on role involving the safe movement of vehicles around the site, vehicle checks and general yard duties. You’ll be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment where safety, reliability and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving and positioning vehicles around the yard and site
- Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any damage or issues
- Moving vehicles to the correct locations efficiently and safely
- Assisting with general yard and vehicle preparation duties
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Following all site health & safety procedures
- Working effectively as part of a busy team
- A confident and competent driver
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Safety-conscious with good attention to detail
- Flexible and willing to undertake a variety of yard duties
- Previous experience in a vehicle compound, car auction, logistics or yard environment is advantageous
- A full UK driving licence is required
- Good driving experience and confidence manoeuvring different vehicles
- Previous yard, logistics or vehicle-handling experience is desirable
