Salary: £16.50 - £20.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 6-8 weeks

Reed is delighted to be supporting a well-established visitor attraction in Saffron Walden in the recruitment of an experienced Duty Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during its busiest seasonal period, leading operational teams and helping to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

This hands-on management role would suit someone with experience in hospitality, leisure, tourism, retail, events, or any high-volume customer-facing environment.

The Role

As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring excellent service standards, effective team management and a safe, welcoming environment for visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and supporting operational teams throughout each shift.
• Managing staffing levels, rotas and workforce planning.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training activities.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and site presentation.
• Conducting regular operational and safety inspections.
• Supporting the delivery of events and visitor activities.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and acting as a key point of contact during incidents.
• Assisting with stock control, purchasing and resource management

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management position.
• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Experience working in a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
• A good understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
• Flexibility to work weekends and peak trading periods.
